Ever had that moment when you’re all ready for bed, you get under the covers all cosy and warm then curl up with your eyes closed next to your significant other… only to have those eyes suddenly snap open as you are paralysed by the realisation of something you did/said that day? Something that came so naturally then but that now, on reflection, was an error of the highest degree? Me too.
This blog is for us less than perfect few; we who are more on the ‘eat a bit less cheese straight out of the fridge’ end of the spectrum than the ‘increase my 5am yoga sessions to 60 minutes’ one when it comes to New Years resolutions. It’s for those of us who are more ‘try not to bitch about your colleagues within earshot this time’ than ‘practice more gratitude’ and who, above all else, have good(ish) intentions despite variable success when it comes to the execution.
Within the blog, I’ll be documenting various attempts at self-improvement as I navigate the passage to a better work life balance, sort through my emotional and physical clutter and come to terms with the fact that yes, ‘moomin’ can be a body type when you’re in your 30s. You’ll find all the usual reviews and opinions, ideas and projects, travel and recipes you can expect from a lifestyle blog, but with a generous dollop of snark. Oh, and there will be no pious diet culture, lifestyle condescension nor carefully curated flat-lays. You’re welcome.
About Emma

For those of you that care, I’m Emma, the brains (ahem) behind Good(ish) Intentions. I’m a 30-something marketing professional and would-be writer from South West London with a penchant for classic style, British comedy and music with guitars in it. I can often be found lint rolling cat hair off my clothing, avoiding people that might recognise me wearing manmade fibres on a countryside yomp or moaning about my (admittedly, not that bad) commute.
